THE SUMI FILES
The Sumi Files are a series of prints, digital illustrations and flyers featuring my cat, Sumi. A former stray from Alabama, Sumi Keo Marjolin is an elderly domestic medium hair kitty based in Providence, RI. Inspired by her various shapes and poses, I often collage iPhone photos I’ve taken of Sumi into compositions with hand-drawn type and doodles. The collages are usually printed on the risograph and then circulated either at zine fests and craft fairs, hung up at local businesses or stapled to telephone poles around Providence.
